Is there a way to get a dvd player to work on a 1994 Zenith tv/vcr combo??

I attached it to the set and the screen is black and it screams.

You need to look for a set of 3 connectors on your TV that say something like Video and Audio-L/Audio-R. If you have these, then the DVD player should be able to connect with a 3-wire cable that should have been supplied with your DVD player.

If your TV only has an antenna connection that you need to go to your local electronics store (RadioShack, Circuit City, BestBuy), and get an "RF modulator" . Describe your problem to them - they'll know what you need. You should be able to get one for under $30.
