Ok, try to visualize this..

I am going to hang some garland around a room in the space where the wall meets the ceiling. (Normally where Crown Molding is.) In my apartment, I normally use a staple gun and it has worked very well, then I just touched up paint after I pulled it down. However, I need a method for hanging this garland that won't leave marks or damage the walls or the paint.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could use? (BTW, there is no crown molding where I will be hanging this garland.)

3M comand strip hooks. I have garlands hanging 16 feet above my livingroom down the banister, swagged on the rails and around every window on the front of my house. They don't do well outside but are fantastic inside. Get the ones rated for heavy items, though. Allow the strip to fully adhere and wait the suggested amount of time before hanging the garlands on them. Then when you want to remove them you simply pull the strip which releases the hook without damage to the walls or whatever surface you are adhering them to. BTW my garlands are loaded to the gills with ornaments, brass horns, mini drums, wired ribbon and even stockings on the stairs and it holds it all.

Thumbtacks. Put one every foot or so(however you want it to drape). You can hide the holes with just a dot of paint on a q-tip if even you have to hide them.
