I think you should tell PeachKeen,Jelly Bean. what OTT stands for!
Two peoples divided by a common language. Most of your respondents just HAVE to be Americans. They don't seem able to string two words together and they don't even have the excuse of being dyslexic. P.S. You should have told him to stick it up...sideways!!!

It does bother me. A week before Halloween, stores here (in the US) started putting up Christmas decorations on the opposite side of the aisle from all the Halloween decorations. You'd walk down the aisle and hear a screaming cackle from a witch in your left ear, and a HO HO HO in your right. It's insane.

However, I also have to say that x-mas, exmass (or any derivation thereof) bothers me more than companies/people putting up decorations too early. It's CHRISTmas. After all (and sorry--I know this is trite) Jesus IS the reason for the season. Somehow, saying xmas just cheapens the whole thing and makes me believe that people have truly forgotten the real meaning of Christmas, and are content to give and receive presents only--not actually celebrating the holiday for what it is.

I agree, it's a little early, but it's their prerogative (also, I think you were trying to say "odd", not "ott"). It's their apartment and if they want to put up Christmas decorations in July, they can. Sorry, Mr. Grinch.

EDIT: Geez, is it REALLY such a bad thing that I didn't know what "OTT" stood for?!? Calm down! I don't talk Text. I actually spell my words out like a big girl, thank you very much.

Do you know your neighbor? Life is fragile. Nothing like it use to be when you could wait appropriately to put up your christamas decorations. But nowadays with loved ones going off to war, dying of cancer, one never knows if this would be your last moment to share a happy memory with them. God bless them for WHATEVER reason they chose to celebrate so early. They know why.

it fairly is a question you are able to would desire to ask your landlord, i dont think of he/she could have a difficulty with it, yet its continually good to verify till now hand that way there will be no interuptions for the duration of the celebration from the tenants saying the lighting fixtures furniture dont belong up

Of course it is far too early, if they are not that thick they may well be aware that it makes them look like eejits.
Perhaps they are depressed and have put them up to cheer themselves up.

listen people do what they want in their own homes like you do, you dont pay that persons bills do you!, is it because you dont like christmas?!! i would consentrate sorting out what bothers you, rather than taking interest in other peoples personal happiness, you are not happy, and your turning whats happen9ing accross the into a obssession, and it needs to be addressed.
