I have created a document in Word 2003. I am trying to share with someone who only has the 2000 version of Word. How can I convert so she can open the document?

Word 97 - 2003 all use the same file format. There should be no conversion necessary.

If you have Word 2007, you will need to 'Save As' and change the document type from Word 2007 (docx) to Word '97-2003 (doc)

Sometimes older versions aren't compatible with newer versions, but 2000 and 2003 should be fine. Here's how you can usually tell. When you do a "Save As", you click on the document type where there is a list of types of documents to choose from. If your computer gave you the choice of Word 2000, then it might be necessary... but that choice isn't there (as a .doc) in Word 2003, so there wouldn't be a need to save your 2003 document as a lower version.

open in word 2003 and save as. then select word 2000 format.

AFAIK 2003 and 2000 had the same formatting.

If they are both doc types they should be compatible.
