How could you even think of leaving the room with a child that young in the bathtub. My two sons are 35 months and 6 1/2 years old. My youngest I don't even leave the room with him in the tub. And my oldest I'm always in earshot and always listening for odd sounds or no sounds at all and I always yells at him every few minutes to make sure he's doing ok.

Absolutely not. The child could drown before you even make it outside. There is nothing going on outside more important than a child's life.

NO! A kid could drown in a matter of seconds. You never know if your child could seizure or slip and fall or anything. I have a friend who lost her child this way. He baby girl was 5 yrs old and had a seizure in the tub and drown in a matter of minutes. All she did was run and answer the phone. I have a two year old and I walk to my bedroom which is right next door but I am never out of the bathroom for longer than a minute or two.

you don't leave a 23 month old child in a bathtub on their own, I don't care where the parent is. and before you ask why, the child could drown, even with a 1 inch of water, or start playing with the faucets and could turn on the hot water and severely burn themselves.

God no, who would do THAT? That's just irresponsible. You shouldn't be leaving a concious 23 month old alone at all, in any situation, let alone the bathtub.

Absolutely NOT. Your job while your child is in the tub is to keep them safe, not be outside. Babies can drown in 3 inches of water and if they slip, they could crack their heads open and if they turn the hot water on they could be scalded.

NEVER EVER should a young child... say under about five years of age, be left alone in a tub of water. In case you've never heard it, a child can drown in a measly two inches. In fact, a lady here earlier this year left her three year old... for just a few seconds, and now he's dead... drowned in his own tub. Sad. Never risk your childs life, no matter how silly it seems.

NO!!!!

People (children included) can drown in the time it takes to inhale, and it takes very little water too!

You have invested 23 months in your child, wait a few minutes more and go outside afterwards.

no child should be left alone in the tub while the parent is outside that is just not cool . it is one thing if the parent was in another room in the house but outside is unacceptable behavior
