ive tried everything ive even gone to the microsoft web pageit wont play any media at all and it wont download the drivers i need can somebody please help

you might need to download the media software first (must be from a cd after the network)

Go to your control panel, and to "sound, speech, and audio devices." Try reconfiguring them, and if that doesn't work, use the troubleshooter or the "help" button or "?" button. There should be one somewhere. Just experiment around until you find the specific problem and cause. Then after you know the cause of the problem, you should be able to fix it.

Can you be more specific? What exactly are you trying to download (url)?
Do you by chance get a yellow bar across the top of your browser when you click on a download? If so, click on that yellow bar and accept what it's requesting.
