I got an email this morning that said forward this to everyone you know, lets boycott this movie, its about killing god and promoting atheism in children ect... My family, although they call themselves christians, are not that religious. They are somewhat openminded in the idea that other people may not believe what they do. They know I am not Christian. I found it so strange that my family would send me something like this. Is it really as hatefilled and horrible as they are making it out to be?

I've read the entire trilogy, and it was SO beautiful. It teaches love from the most innocent and pure place. Only an ignorant person would call those books bad- they are more moral than almost anything I've ever read.

I think it's a bunch of sissy Christians whining about something that goes against their beliefs. Heaven forbid a movie offer a different view point.

I don't recall atheists sending out mass forwards to boycott the Chronicles of Narnia because of it's Christian overtones.

It is probably the same group of people who didn't want you to watch Harry Potter: that have never even seen the movie and are just going to preach against it, because they want to impose their will on everyone else. There were people who said Harry Potter was evil also, when asked if they ever saw it, they said no, they just knew it was about witchcraft and the devil, that was what they were told. When asked who told them, they just said, well, everybody says.

i have no problem with it.

there are movies that promote christianity.
whats the deal if there are movies that promote islamic, judaic or atheistic beliefs? (i believe we live in a country that promotes equality? or is that only equality for christians...?)

i plan on seeing it when it comes out. i cant tell you whether its "hatefilled and horrible" because... well... its not out yet.

I'd say going to the golden compass will make you convert to an atheist like going to Narnia will convert you to Christianity.

If your kids question how you kill a god (i think that's in the 3rd book not the first), just tell them the truth, it's a story.

i love how the religious fanatics get frantic over anything that's even slightly anti-religion or different from their views. remember the harry potter hype? that was ridiculous and so is this. especially since you don't hear jews, muslims, atheists, etc. whining about christian themed movies that are coming out.
