Yes, when you're lucid dreaming. I find the best way to do it is to focus on words and numbers in your dreams...if you read something while you're dreaming, and you look away at something else, you can look back at what you read, see something completely different, and become fully conscious while you're dreaming! It helps if you practice while you're awake...read something in front of you, look away, look back and see if you're reading the same thing. If you practice while you're awake, you're more likely to do it in your dreams. If you end up lucid dreaming, you can totally control your dreams!

Yes if you know you're in a dream and realise it's not real. I've done it a few times, but it seems to make me wake up quicker. It's best when your dreaming about something that can't be possible in real life (a strange world, things that don't exist etc.). This can make you trigger into realising that it's just a dream and you can think about things and these things then happen. The problem with me is, it normally makes me wake up after a couple of minutes as something goes "you're about to wake up" and I do. So it kills it a bit.

I have had reoccuring dreams since childhood that are now like choose your own adventures. I can rationalize in the dream "Okay, I tried this last time and it didn't work what can I try next." No idea how I'm able to do that.
