You need to get an HDTV and use the HDMI cables or if you don't have a HDTV, use the component cabes.

If you are using an older non-HDTV, that could be the problem as well. I hooked up my PS3 to a 10 year old non-HDTV, and the graphics didn't look that good, but when I hooked it up to my non-HDTV that I got last summer, the graphics were extremely better.

Better TV maybe?
I play my PS3 on my HDTV through the HDMI cables an it looks awesome, so it may be the TV.

only thing I can think of is buy a HD tv, 1080p is beautiful. Old "tube" tvs only display 480i.
