You won't get fleas. You will get flea bites. I've had a cat at all times for 48 years and have had many with fleas and have never had fleas!

It could just be your imagination :-) I get itchy too when I see fleas, even though at work I see them most days!!
Doesn't matter if it's your imagination or not - treating the kitten properly for fleas will get rid of all fleas, real or imaginary. Get a proper treatment from the vets - Frontline, Revolution or Advantage. These can be used from 8 weeks of age. If the kitten is younger than this you will need to get Frontline spray, which is safe for use on kittens from 2 days of age, and very effective. You may also need to treat your house, because this is where most of the fleas may be living by now.

Fleas spend only a portion of their lives on a cat, or dog, they spend the rest of it in your house, on your carpet, pillows, chairs, basically everything. So, there is a high possibility you may have a flea or 2 on you, but no worries, they will soon leave and go on to live with the rest of their flea friends in your house
Don't worry, most houses have fleas, even the ones who don't have pets.

well u cant really have them in ur head as like lice. the best i can help u with is bathe him/her every 3 or 4 days. take a flea comb and the fleas will stick to it. kill the fleas with ur fingers and search 4 more...u shouldnt buy medication just yet..... since its a kitten it could bring it health problems....just bathe her in a bucket full of water......try dipping her a few times(as well as her head) but not too much time.... i do that to my kitten and she hardly has any.... hope it helps!

If the cat has fleas, the problem is with the eggs. They are most likely in the bed (and possibly other places where he goes. Wash your sheets and other bedding to eliminate the eggs. You can carefully comb out the fleas on the cat.

Get a cup a water a flea or lice comb get with your cat whenever it is tuckerd and use the comb to pet your cat with, each time you see a flea on the comb DIP IT IN THE CUP OF WATER. Those suckers are fast and its to much of a risk to try and kill it with your fingers once its in the comb
