All I can say is that when I am freaking out about something or super worried or anxious, whenever I start to calm down and try to not worry anymore whatever it is seems to resolve itself or an opportunity shows up.

Hello,
Jesus said render on to Caesar what is Caesar's. In those days the family looked after on another and he did not ask the Roman Empire to set up a welfare state.
Cheers,

If you read through your Bible, you will find that even in the Old Testament God put the responsibility for feeding those in need on his people.
He required that farmers leave certain section of their fields unharvested so that those in need could gleam for it.
When a sacrifice was made, part of it was to be given to the poor as food.
When a person tithed (gave 10% of their income) they have the option to give some or all of that money to the poor.
Why should we as a society do otherwise? Charity - giving to those in need - is one of the central Christian virtues. As such, it should be one of the things our government is required to do.
