OK, I'm just gonna let out what I really think right now so brace yourself,,,.........

If you ever sent your kid away like that, I hope you feel bad about yourself. Can you imagine how your kid will never forget what you did to them there, even years later? No one should ever have to do that. What do you want to have happen to them? Do you want them to be torn down like that for the rest of their lives? Do you want them to be called "magots" and never reach higher, better goals in life?

What do you hope happens to them years later?
What if they never get married?
Do you still want your son to enjoy sex with a woman later on?

Children that have Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) are often so misbehaved that the parents cannot do anything with them. They Do not call them Maggots, at least the good ones don't. Children that are in danger of being expelled because of their problems or getting in trouble with the law at a young age benefit from a boot camp or military school. I know some kids that were sent to military school and when they got out they were as good as gold and they respected their parents more for caring enough about them to make sure they got the help they needed. It is better to send them to military school than to put drugs into their bodies like a lot of doctors and teachers want you to do. My step-son has ODD and he is now 21 and a high school drop-out with low paying jobs because my husband never got around to getting him the help he needed. Don't judge others unless you know what their situation is. If my 3 year-old son ever, in the future has a problem with ODD (Which it can run in families and I believe my husband has it also) I will be sending him to military school!

Some kids benefit greatly from military schools and in fact some children need that structure in their lives. Many actually ask to be sent to that type of school for career goals of the future.

You're only looking at one side of things and I'd venture to guess that you are a kid that is being sent away, am I right?

I suggest you leave him alone and stop being such a horribly judgemental, sexist parent. "For example, at one prom, he and this girl randomly decided to not go to prom and went to the coast that is three hours drive away and spend the day there." Well, in that case, congratulate yourself on having a son that is - rather against the odds, judging from your question - capable of having an original thought and doing what he and his girlfriend wanted to do rather than buying into some stupid shallow cliche like the prom. When I was a teenager, I would have loved to find a boyfriend who would have taken me to the coast for the day instead of going to the prom.
