They are all Sodium Chloride (NaCl).

table salt is a fine grain, usually iodized, and has a sharp, briny flavor.

sea salt comes from the oceans, is mild and soft in flavor, and usually naturally iodized. Usually in flakes.

kosher salt is mild and soft in flavor, is not iodized, and is in larger crystals than table salt.

I prefer kosher salt for cooking and baking. Ik eep talbe salt on the table, but rarely use it. And I use sea salt for garnishing when the salt will be visible on the food (veggies, salads, etc).

Japanese food like sushi has at least a dozen different salts that go with different fish, so yes, there are distinct differences in flavors as well as texture between different salt types. They all contain sodium chloride, but have distinct flavors owing to the fact that they come from different sources with different mineral content that varies by region.

Table salt is often mined or flushed out from salt caves, sea salt from evaporated sea or salt lake water. Kosher salt is basically coarse-grained table salt without the additives that can be used for "koshering" meats in the manner prescribed by the torah but doesn't dissolve well if used for baking.

Since they are all pretty cheap, why not try them all and see which you prefer for different foods?
