It's not vain, but it's a lot more trouble than you know.
Here's the scoop on dying your hair. It's a lot of work to keep it looking good. You can't just color it once and be done with it. As your hair grows out, the roots (the hair growing at the scalp) show the normal color, and they grow out pretty fast so you have to keep dying the roots every couple of weeks or so. Plus, the more different your hair color is from the dyed color, the more noticeable it is. For example, if your hair is silver and you color it blond the roots will only show a little, but if you try to color your hair brown or black the gray hair growing out at the roots will show up a lot. In other words it never looks quite natural.
I say stick with what you've got. Guys usually look really good as their hair gets gray. It gives them that sort of sophisticated look. My dad went gray in his thirties, and all of my friends' moms thought he was the hottest guy on the block.

Just remember there is a lot of upkeep involved with coloring your hair and you don't want to use those metallic dyes for men if you do. If I were you and you still want silver, but not completely I would consider low-lighting. That involves pulling select strands through a cap and having them darkened, just the reverse of highlighting. That way it looks more natural, but will give you a darkened appearance.

You're not being vain to want to remove the gray from your hair.
Some people who are prematurely gray like to keep their hair gray because it's a beautiful thing in itself. If you don't like your hair gray, however, by all means go ahead and get it colored.
Grey hair can be hard to color sometimes, so you may want to consider going to a salon to have the color done. Also, remember that if your natural color was dark, you'll have grey roots between touch-ups, which have to be done every few weeks.

I say no, when hair goes grey and you dye it, it looks completely unnatural, keep it like that. On some men grey/silver hair look sexy, plus, if you dye it once you'll have to dye it again and again.
But if you want to , then go ahead. And no, it's not vain either.

Hmm.... if you aren't married and you are looking for someone near your age or younger, then yes, I'd dye it back to it's original color.
If you are married, I would't worry about it.
But obviously it bothers you, so it's really up to you. I think that silver/grey hair is BEAUTIFUL! I also love salt n pepper hair. As for it being on younger people, like yourself, it really depends on the person as to how good it looks on them.
Either way, I'm sure you are beautiful!

If it were me, I’d have made sure I never actually saw my grays, but since you’ve let it go all the way….
Keep in mind that anyone who’s accustomed to seeing you as you are now will need some time to adjust to you with a drastically different color. You should also be prepared to touch up your roots at least once per month. Gray roots are super obvious and if you don’t dye often enough, you’ll look like a skunk.

I don't think it has nothing to do with vanity per say. I will be prematurely gray i bet too.
I am have doubts with hair dye for guys... I would really look into it if I was you. From what I seen, they might not be as well prefected as hair coloring products for women. I could be wrong.
For me, I think no dye could ever replace my natural black color, so I am embracing it... at least I am not going bald.

I have been dying my hair for years. I started going grey since I was 25. There is nothing vein about wanting to keep your hair the way you want it.
