Not likely. I haven't read the Quran but I know some of the history around it. I would not follow Islam if it were the last religion on the earth. Just the idea that their god would wait until the 5th century CE to reveal his "true" will makes me think that something is very fishy about it.
Also, I would say there is no evidence to support the Quran as being true and it has nearly the same amount of contradictions that the Bible has.

yeah. That must be the reason.
I'll start reading...
I'll start with this version of it:
http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/quran/index.htm
4:36 Says to 'be kind to your slaves'
That sounds like good advice.
And 4:24 says that you can have sex with your woman slaves, or do whatever you want with them.
18:86, 90 "The sun rises and sets at particular places on a flat earth. At the westernmost point on earth, the sun sets in a muddy spring. "
64:14-15: Your wives and children are your enemies. They are to you only a temptation.
Oh- there's a bunch of places where Allah turns Christians and Jews into Apes. That's a good one.
I'm still reading, but becoming a believer...

So why wouldn't a Christian reading the Quran become Muslim? It doesn't have magic powers-it is just a book.

I've read the Qur'an, the main Hadith, and some of the Midrashic and Zoroastrian texts that wer plagiarized (along with the Bible) to form a large portion of the Qur'an. Muhammad strikes me as little more than a charismatic sociopath, and his behavior that of a terrorist.

To the contrary in fact. I think reading and studying any religious text is more likely to lead a person away from religion.

They are saying that to encourage people to read it.
I have read large parts of the Bible and I believe some, and take some as metaphoric tales meant to teach complex lessons to the simple people of the time.

I've read the Qur'an. I didn't find it to be any more convincing or anything than the Bible, or any other religious texts that I've read.
