Freewill is to believe in Him and the One He sent, whether you believe that or not is your freewill, but followers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are to tell others of His offer of salvation.

People who try to force their beliefs on others are 'Apostate', or they don't have the necessary knowledge of GOD or interest to do his will. You never saw Jesus chase after people but his own. They sought HIM out. No, people who try to cram their beliefs down other's throats don't know GOD at all. Those who accuse belong to Satan. Who is the Great Accuser. GOD'S people are ONLY suppose to confront people of their own faiths when they are disobeying GOD. Not unbelievers. It's in the book...but to answer your original question- God created us to have fellowship with him. And you can tell from the faithless accusers, they aren't having a fellowship with him.

A parent loves their children unconditionally. They don't
"need" them, per se. God just wants the best for us, his children. He wants us to have a good life, and worries when we go down the wrong path, just as a parent does when their children get into trouble.
Christians have a mandate to spread the word of Jesus. You have free will to listen or not.

God created us for His good pleasure and to have communion with us. He also created us so that we might know him and love him. He created us with free will so that in our own choice we could choose Him. For what decision is worth making or means more than the one you can make for yourself. You have a choice of who you hang around or what you believe from anybody, if you feel like there are people that are interfering with your life you have a choice to keep them around you or not.

Gods need men for their own existence. Without mankind, there would have been nobody to invent It.

God, does not need anyone.
He is the all-knowing, the Almighty, the all that is.
Now what could He possibly need from all of you?
Certainly not die because you did not believe!

God needs believers to exist... that's true of every fantasy character... and in my neck of the woods, you'd be hard pressed to find even a hair of him.
