If I'm taking prescription pills in my carry-on do the bottles have to be in a clear bag or can they just be "loose" in my carry-on?

if it's a liquid ... it's must b 3oz or less... and in a zip loc bag...

if tabs... it nice to keep them in clear bags... so that it's easy during security chek...(if they wanna look at them )

also, keep the original copy of the prescription along wit the tabs.. for safety .. take a photo copy of the prescription, which u can keep in your checked in baggage...

:)hav a safe trip

Put them in a clear bag and carry evidence of the prescription just in case.

Liquid medications are exempt from the 3 ounce liquid carry on rule. All medications and their accessories, like needles are allowed to be carry on. The only exemption to this might be something like oxygen because it might be a hazard.
I don't think it is a big deal if they are loose or together in a bag.

Prescriptions don't have to be in a clear bag, they are not "contraband" and are not a threat to public safety. As long as the bottle they are in has you're or a family members (or someone you're traveling with) name on them then it's within your rights to travel with them. Also, you don't have to answer any questions about the meds (it's against your right to privacy) so if asked, say the name on the bottle matches mine, so go * yourself TSA.

They do not have to be in the clear zip lock bag but they must be in there original packaging and the name of the prescription must match that name on your boarding pass.

If they're liquid they have to be in a plastic zip lock bag. If they're solid you should just put it in a plastic bag to make it easier.
