If your cat is not keeping himself clean then you may want to see a vet because there may be something wrong but if he just needs more than when my cat needs more i spray her with a water bottle and it'll make her clean herself it sounds mean but it always works for me

Cats can be bathed, but you will need to use a shampoo especially for cats (best to go to vet for this). Your' cat may be very scared first time round so protect your hands. Some cats love water, my sons' cat sits in the bath and yells until he turns the water on for him. Make sure the water is not too hot and keep the shampoo away from his eyes. Talk to him while you are bathing him and hopefully he will enjoy the experience. Good luck.

There are some tricks to giving your cat a bath. Make sure the water is luke warm and only comes up to their knees. The water shouldn't be running when they are in the bath, it scares them. Don't dunk the cat, but have a bucket to sluice water of him. Never wash their head as it can cause ear infections.
We give our cats baths every six months or so. They don't really like it, but they don't hate it either. Healthy cats don't need baths at all, but we give ours baths to 1) keep in the habit, and 2) in case they get into something and need to be bathed they won't freak out.

Yes you can give your cat a bath, just not as much as a dog. Cats like themselves to clean them so in most cases they dont need a bath, but some times they needs a good bath every now and then. It won't kill the cat to give them a bath. That cat won't like it and you would have to beware of the claws.

he's not crying because he wants a shower. i have a five month old kitten and while i'm in the shower she sits and she watches and when i get get out she cries and paws at the glass so she can get in. they say curiosity killed the cat and your cat is just curious to see what your doing in their. but if you want to bathe your cat i found a simple solution that will save the hassle and scratching from trying to give it a bath. my vet told me about these cath bathing cloths that you can get from walmart. it is a big cloth with soap in it and my cat loves it. you just wipe her down from head to toe and let them be and they smell fantastic when its done. the best thing about no scratches:)

My cat likes to play in water with his forefeet, and sometimes cries when I'm in the shower, but he's NOT interested in being wet all over. (-:
A few cats like water. Why not let him stick his head in the shower and see if he really likes water or is just unhappy at being separated from you while you're in there?

I have a cat and we had to wash her a couple of times. Cats really dont like being dunk into water. What you should do is give it a shower, its less traumatizing to the cat.

I wouldn't. Most cats are afraid of water. The way a cat gives himself a bath is he licks himself whenever he feels like it. Try that.

If he wants to get into the shower, let him. He might just be curious about what's going on.
My cat has to inspect me after I shower, because she just doesn't see WHY I am allowing myself to get soaked. LOL
Unless he NEEDS a bath, though....don't. It's stressful and it could cause him to no longer like the bathroom.

Why not just let him in the shower. You'll both get cleaned that way. I had a cat that used to jump in the tub with me if I didn't shut the door. It's all good.
