My middle daughter will be 5 on the 12 of Dec. and we struggle every year to keep her birthday separate from Christmas. I'm looking for an unusual idea to do something special for her this year, not too expensive either. We would like to do something outside of our home.

Have you tried asking your daughter what she wants to do? Perhaps she wants to go to a specific place. Is she into animals? I know one of the best birthdays I ever had was on a horse ranch. I always loved horses as a little girl, and the one year my mom took me to go and ride the horses.

Make it a Tropical party.

Things to do:
Hula Skirts (use draw-string garbage bags, cut the bottom edge off, and cut long strips vertically, leaving them attached to the draw-string top. Easy on, easy off, and easy to shorten for little ones).

Leis - tear apart silk flowers (from the craft store), until you have just the silk flower 'circles' (no leaves or stems). The kids thread yarn through short sections of colored drinking straws and the flowers to make a necklace.

Learn to Hula - put on some silly music and wiggle.

Monkeys, Parrots, Sunglasses all play into your theme.

Have a treasure hunt. Find some nice neighbours who wouldn't mind helping or giving clues or dressing up or maybe letting you spread into their garden as well.
Anything else is up to you, whether you theme it, (pirates are normally good) and what you set as the treasure (chocolate coins?) But the basic idea is there.

Divide the gamers into 2 communities (15-20 gamers in each and each). Stand each and each team in a circle. Rope the gamers of each team collectively. So, each and each team is "a spider". on the chief's command "the spiders" start to visit the end-line. on the end line there are 2 greater circles. The spiders might desire to get to them as quickly as achieveable.
