I heard that dogs are immune to snake venom. Is this true?

No, not true at all! They are just as likely to die from a snake bite as people are. In fact, they are even more susceptible because on average, they are smaller than us so the venom is more potent in them.

My sister's dog got bitten by a rattle snake and the dog had to get a snake Venom shot so the dog could live. She almost lost her dog from the snake bite.

No. A poisonous snake can kill a dog just as quick as it can a human. Every living thing can produce antivenin if done correctly and become tolerant to the venom though.

many dogs die from snake venom if not treated immediatley.

I dont think so but if your dog is bit from a danger snake then take him to vet FAST!!
