Muslims believe Jesus was born of a virgin by simple command of Allah. Jesus' miraculous birth affords him no higher standing or presumed partnership with God. When God ordains a matter, He merely says, "Be" and it is so. "The similitude of Jesus before God is as that of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be!" And he was" (3:59). In Islam, Jesus is regarded as a human prophet and messenger of God, not part of God Himself.

As a Muslim, I believe in the virgin birth of Christ, as all Muslims do. Why? Because this is one of the very important themes in the Qur’an.
The Qur’an tells a great deal about the birth, works, and miracles of Jesus (`Isa in Arabic). His story starts with the angels’ call to Mary (Maryam in Arabic) by which they declare the miracle of God—a son without a father. Mary is surprised:
[She said, “My Lord! How can I have a son when no man has ever touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. When He decides on something, He just says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.”] (Aal `Imran 3:47)
There are many passages in the Qur’an in which Mary is highly praised. We read that angels said to her, [“Maryam, God has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you over all other women”] (Aal `Imran 3:42).
In another surah, An-Nisaa’ 4:156, those who propose [a monstrous slander against Maryam] are cursed. Actually, there is quite a long surah in the Muslim Scripture titled “Maryam” (Mary) in which the nobility of Mary and the virgin birth is told in detail. In another surah, we read,
[Maryam, the daughter of `Imran, who guarded her chastity—We breathed Our Spirit into her and she confirmed the Words of her Lord and His Book and was one of the devout] (At-Tahrim 66:12)
These verses make clear that Mary—along with Jesus himself—is a sacred figure for all Muslims. Thus, any disrespect, insult, or attack on Mary or Jesus Christ is directed also toward Islam. We can add Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, and many other Old Testament figures to the list—they are all praised in the Qur’an.
I suspect this will be news to some non-Muslims. The Qur’an in Surat An-Nisaa’ 4:152, orders that Muslims should not [differentiate between any of [God’s Messengers].]

Abraham was chosen to be a Great Prophet of the Creator of the Universe. Abraham had two sons who were both to be blessed with a Holy Covenant at separate times. The Holy Covenant are promises from The Lord of Abraham in return for taking on the responsibility to "Make Allah/God known to the World" and establishing the “laws of God” on the Earth. Both sons were to get a covenant but not at the same time. First one would get it then the other. Isaac was chosen for the covenant first and it would be their responsibility to fufill the job until their last Prophet was sent. God sent down many Prophets to the Israelites but they would keep calling them imposters and killing them. Finally God sent down the last Israelite Prophet who would come in a way that nobody could say he was an imposter. He would have a miracle birth, miracle cures and a blessed speech. If the Jews believe in this last Israelite Prophet then God would forgive them, so Jesus was sent as their Messiah (redeemer and uniter of the Tribes). If the Jews believed in Jesus as their Messiah, God was going to forgive them for slaying all the Prophets in the past and save them from an Eternal curse. Those Jews who denied Jesus was the Jewish Messiah will be sent a False Messiah near the last days as a final chastisement after the Lord gathers them all into one small area. Muslims have a seperate covenant through the the first son of Abraham - Ishmael . Muslims are not dependant on a Jewish Messiah for atonement or guidance. Muslims are independant of the historical rebellion of the children of Isaac. /// .

There are many similarities between Muslims and Christians. In fact Christianity and Islam are more closely related when it comes to Jesus and Mary, than Jews and Christians are...
Muslims believe in the perpetual Virginity of Mary like Christians.
Muslims also believe she lived her life with out sin.
Muslims believe Jesus lived His life with out sin.
Muslims believe Jesus will return to earth at the end of time.
Muslims believe in Jesus' ability to heal the sick and perform miracles.
Muslims believe that Jesus left Earth alive rose directly to Heaven.
Muslims believe Jesus to be a Prophet.
Jews believe in none of these things.
Granted the difference between Christians and Muslims are great, there are many similarities. And, the difference between Christians and Jews is very large. Jews not only deny that Jesus is God, they deny His Prophecy, His Miracles, and His Virgin Birth.

Muslims do believe that mary was so favored. But, that is a long way from believing what christians believe about the virgin birth. Be assured, the bible narrative is accurate. Yes, joseph was Jesus' earthly father, and from knowing Jewish tradition, Jesus accepted him as such.

We believe just as you do. Jesus's (pbuh) birth was a miracle birth. There is a chapter in the Quran named after Mary on this.
[19:16] Mention in the scripture Mary. She isolated herself from her family, into an eastern location.
[19:17] While a barrier separated her from them, we sent to her our Spirit. He went to her in the form of a human being
[19:18] She said, "I seek refuge in the Most Gracious, that you may be righteous."
[19:19] He said, "I am the messenger of your Lord, to grant you a pure son."
(19:20] She said, "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me; I have never been unchaste."
[19:21] He said, "Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me. We will render him a sign for the people, and mercy from us. This is a predestined matter.' "
[19:22] When she bore him, she isolated herself to a faraway place.
19:23] The birth process came to her by the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "(I am so ashamed;) I wish I were dead before this happened, and completely forgotten."
[19:24] (The infant) called her from beneath her, saying, "Do not grieve. Your Lord has provided you with a stream.
[19:25] "If you shake the trunk of this palm tree, it will drop ripe dates for you.
and so forth.....
