Revelation 21: 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. This verse is talking about New Jerusalem coming down to the earth after the old earth is burned up. Only the people that live through the 1000 year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ will be able to go into this city. If you have trusted and believed what the Lord Jesus Chris did on the cross for you then you will be in heaven not in New Jerusalem. 2 Corinthians 5: 1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

I don't think the streets will be slippery because heaven will be perfect and slipperyness could cause somebody to fall and experience pain which is something you can't have in heaven. Same goes with the heat. Heat could make somebody uncomfortable and in heaven your not uncormfortable, but you will get to reign with god for eternity which will be very nice. Just to be in his presence. I wouldn't worry about it if i was you. Just live your life for god and spread his word to help save others to christ.

God bless!

You are making the same literal interpretation of scripture that gets fundamentalists skewered in this forum, albeit you are using sarcastic humor. Heaven will be a state of being far beyond what we can comprehend; thus the use of metaphor.

When I get to heaven, I don't believe that golden streets will even be important.Seeing my Lord face to face, praising and worshiping Him without the flesh to contend with, will make gold appear as kitty litter.I hope to see you there.
