What do you think about it if you have?

Do you think God has other books that are not in the Bible?

Personaly I believe there is. I AM VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT OTHER BOOKS. I have seen much false teacing in them. However the Bible in the book of Jude speaks of Enoch.

Jude 1:14
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Also Jasher was also mentioned.
Joshua 10:13
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
2 Samuel 1:18
(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

KIng David does not give reference but does mention things Enoch speaks about.

Yes Brother Don. Like I said I AM VERY SKEPTICAL All Christians should be.
Although I have read this book and have kept it in the back of my mind. I have never taught or preached from it. I did use it earlier in a question about the sons of God. The first time ever I have used it for that purpose.

Knowing what Enoch said and keeping it in my mind has only helped me because I don't want to instruct out of something that is not in the Bible for the very reason you mentioned. To me things do make greater sense knowing how Enoch said they operate. Allow the Holy Ghost to lead you.

I have read many other books and have found some to line up to what the Bible said. Many, many more to be false. I have offended a couple in my church because I said it was better to stay with the Bible because of the false books.

Maybe someone else could provide a link to that.

Yes i have two Printed Copies my self,.....many truths it has.....the Church of Laodicea in the 3rd century Church has kept this book from being canonized.....it was just one vote away from being in our bible today...it was a close one....many early churches had this in there teaching,....but later it was taken out by the Church of Laodicea.....This is a familiar Church that was talked about in Rev ch 1-3.....the topic was about the 7 churches and it talked about the Church of Laodicea......it stated because that church was neither hot nor cold......the Lord said he will spew them out of his Mouth.....Frankley i wouldn't wan't to be that church during that time......Let's hope they changed since then.

A Church that fell way short being allowed to make decisions when canonizing books......it makes you wonder how deep the Apostacy goes. Like tooberhoot said read Esdras 1 and 2 ...for your information Esdras is actually the other books of EZRA......so many hidden truths it's unreal.

The LORD gave us the Bible that is forsure,...but Satan has been allowed to decieve many or atleast short change some from knowing more truths that should be more readily availiable if he was out of the way.....but none the less this is part of the Master plan....Even the authority that has been given to the Great deciever Satan.

God can even use something that is bad for the greater good of man kind.....this is what the purification process is about....we are tried by fire like Gold.....that which is impure will float to the top to be skimmed off.

I DONT have specific link........but look up the church of LAODICEA and you can find the history and the cannonization of ceertain books.......it will be a Pleasant Search...........I hoped i could have been more helpful.

Remember!....All things work together for those that love God

Peace to you, Your Brother Pete

I liked the Book of Enoch. I also read the Book of Jasher. It was a long time ago, but I remember thinking that there was more to what God revealed than what's in the Bible. The Bible is the main thing for me, but I reject the tendencies of many who would say that if it's not in the Bible, it cannot be true. The Bible itself proves them wrong as you have pointed out.

Also, the Apocrypha has a meaning. To many of my fellow Protestants, you would think it meant 'cursed if you read it' by their reaction to it. But I recognize that it means "Hidden", and that intrigues me. What's this?! Something that used to be in the Bible that many reject, which means 'Hidden'?!
Let me at it! lol

And I find that I gain from it. The Bible I am using, the Oxford Bible with Apocrypha, has noted in it. They commonly note any problems with the Apocrypha, especially the historical problems with Judith that the readers can note and just go on with the story. And I find that Esdras is riveting.

Are the stories true? I think that there is some truth to them. I also note that in the Book of Tobit, that even if the story might be false, or might not be false, someone knew what a man of faith sounded like, as Tobit was a shining example of faith, and I wonder why Paul did not include him in Hebrews 11.
( As I think that Paul wrote Hebrews ).

Anyone who is Christian who wants to learn about prophecy, especially in regards to Revelation, should read Esdras. In my humble opinion.

I gave the atheist guy a thumbs up by mistake. I do think it is important to read the book, "Eusibuius" as he was close to Polycarp who knew the Apostle John and was writing down the Books for the first time. Upon his death Eusibuis carried on his work. Due to the Popes it is important to dig up the earliest works so I believe they Catholic church has kept from us, as they do have the earliest works.I have not gotten to this point yet but plan to....I am still finishing "Eusibuis" quite a read.

I haven't read the Book of Enoch but I have read about it. It is considered an apocryphal text (scripture that didn't make it into the official Christian Bible, but I thought I read that it was for a short time). It recounts mythology related to angels, which played a big part in Jewish and early Christian religions. (Jewish angelology actually developed through Babylonian influences). Much of angel lore that it taken for granted in Christianity--such as the myth of the fall of Satan from Heaven and lore about the Archangels, such as Michael, come from this scripture. It also figured prominently in medieval magickal and esoteric Christianity.

The men who "inspired by God" combined the Bible together to make the Holy Bible, left out books due to the fact, they were not significant enough to place in the Bible. Some just repeated things already spoken. Some were false teachings. Some were mere writings.

You really took what I said seriously didn't you? This question might be up for a vote before I get it read but I am reading. What I did view was edifying but as for me I feel that if God had wanted these books in the KJV of the Bible He would have seen to it that they were there. He has His way of doing that, just my thoughts. See you later, I have something to read that I didn't know existed until now.

Yes, I've read them (there are several).

The pre-Christian Jews rejected the notion that these books were the inspired word of God. And I do, too.

I believe the reference in Jude originates from what was then called the "Oral Tradition," which hundreds of years later was written down and named the Talmud. The Talmud also explains Jude's reference to "contending about the body of Moses."

I have read the Book of Enoch. It was enlightening and prophetic.Yes, I do think books were, because people that wrote omitted God's true name"YHWH" and no ones knows, the verbs that go in the there, if men would do that with His Name, they would certainly have left books out !

Yes and you should read them. Man chose what books were canonized, they could have selected Cinderella and everyone would be wearing glass slippers and calling them holy. Don't rely on someone else to do your thinking for you. Read them and accept that there is a possibility it is true just as much so as there is a possibility the books that were canonized are true.

Yes I have, however the oldest of "Book of Enoch" manuscripts found are from the 1st or 2nd century AD, not actually written by Enoch or anyone who knew Enoch, for that reason it likely was never cannonized.
