Most people take creatine before and after a workout. After a workout because thats when your body will absorb it better.

I was wondering.. instead of drinking water to quench your thirst... is it okay to be taking creatine instead? Will it have the same effect as taking it after a workout.. ?

Im currently taking Cell Tech by Muscletech.

Let me know.. Thanks

I never understood why people took it after. Simply becauseof the fact that creatine is mimicing a substance naturally found in your body called creatine phosphate which is stored in your muscles. Creatine phosphate helps the rapid creating of ATP your body's basic source of energy. This leads to what people call "the pump" that surge of energy from the creatine. Creatine also helps promote muscle growth because the more creatine phosphate your muscles can store the larger it has to become to accomdate.

there would be no benefit. Cell Tech has massive amounts of sugar in it. you really don't want to ingest sugars during training unless you are performing very high volume training and your resistance training workout lasts more than 2 hours.

taking creatine and sugar post workout has many benefits. the related insulin spike from the high GI sugars blunt the effects of the catabolic hormone cortisol. the sugars help to replenish muscle glycogen stores and the elevated levels of insulin help to "push" nutrients into skeletal muscle. post workout is the best time to ingest protein and carbohydrates. keep taking it after workout as it is specifically designed for that purpose.
