freezing a turkey?

How long can you safely leave an uncooked turkey in the freezer before it should be thrown out. ?
We bought one January of this year and we are thinking about baking it for Thanksgiving.

about a year is the norm for most all meats.
Hopefully it was well wrapped, that would be the only cause for problem.
