1 Peter 4:17
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
I have never had any confidence in TV preachers. I don't know if they can or will be found at fault for anything. There is a big grey area and big loop holes when it comes to the things they are being investigated for. A good accountant could help them not get into any legal trouble (jail, fines, whatever.) However if they are living excessive they will answer to God for it. He is the judge.
Psalm 41:1
Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Luke 18:22
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
God does not mind us being blessed and being well off. This excessiveness is selfishness and does not help those who are truely in need. People give money to these ministrys it should be to spread the gospel.
1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
I'll send my money to those who are spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.
Let God be the judge of these people.

It's like Noah stuffing 2 of every animal into something as small as the Ark. People who were NOT there can insist they "know" it really happened, but there is room for a reasonable doubt. Since Benny Hinn appears to be a sleazebag, exploiting people's hopes and fears for enormous personal monetary gain, it's possible he shagged everything he could. IHere are some Youtube clips, showing how Benny scams over a million dollars a year from gullible Believers.

I think that some of the preachers are genuine, but not all thats for sure. It's not fair to be driving a fancy car and living in a multi million dollar home while someone that gave their last dime to them lives in a shack and drives a piece of garbage.
They will be judged very harshly, for they are leading people astray when they are found guilty of embezzelment or whatever charges come their way.
I do believe that God takes care of his people, but look what Jesus had in the terms of possessions. The clothes on his back and the shoes on his feet? I do believe God blesses people, but only the true and faithful. I am very skeptical of preachers on TV, even local churches I am skeptical.
If they have nothing to hide then open up the books to everyone, if they hide things then chances are they are doing underhanded things.

When I first heard about it, I stood up and cheered. I've been waiting for a very long time for SOMEONE in Government to do this.
I agree with you about Juanita Bynum. (But let's see where these initial investigations lead, then we can talk about who to do next.) Bynum is a "prosperity gospel" preacher and it's not surprising that she lives the way she does.
I sincerely pray that this investigation opens the eyes of millions of American Christians who have been deceived into believing the Bible teaches a prosperity gospel. It doesn't -- it actually teaches quite the opposite.

It's about time some accountability was introduced. As with so many things, the legitimate purpose and position of the church has been hi-jacked and exploited by these money hungry parasites that will feed on anyone gullible enough to listen.
There is a such thing as real churches with honorable motives, but absolute power does seem to corrupt absolutely, and these corporations masquerading as churches are the end result.
I only hope the motives of the people conducting the investigation are pure, as congress has more than its share of corruption too.

People like those give the church a bad name among the people that are curious what the church and Christ is really all about.
People see these types, and jump to the conclusion it's all a sham.
If people would only read and believe what the Bible says, they would never fall for any of these hucksters.
They each of them know inside where they are fraudulent, but they continue...so do they even really believe in God? I doubt it. If they did, they would not be doing what they are doing.

Tele-preachers are the biggest and most successful con-artists that the world has ever known . They take in multi-billions on the promise of a front seat in heaven , but never have to produce proof that those who paid ever got what they paid for . What a racket . Take it in - - pay nothing out .

I personally think that it is about time that the "Merchants of the Faith" are exposed. But, those not found merchandising the faith should be named and publicly cleared by the Senate.
Not everything that is legal is right. Especially when it comes to Faith Merchant's salaries.

Its about time these salesmen were brought up on charges.
We have a responsibility to watch out for the uneducated and easily tricked in our society. Its like caring for children and mentally challenged people. We have to make sure that people being played as rubes and hayseeds are protected from people like this.

It is long overdue. Their success reflects the ignorance that exists in a large part of our society. They use the religious beliefs of the weak minded to fill their pockets.
