The Orthodox are not Protestant. Episcaplian is just a branch of the Anglican Communion. The other denomination to consider in this equation is the Lutheran Church.

You'll lose that argument. The Anglican church IS the closest thing protestantism has to the Catholic Church
The Orthodox churches ARE the closest, but they are not protestant.
There are three branches of Christianity:
1 Catholic
2 Protestant (includes 1000's of sub-denominations)
3 Eastern Orthodox
If you are a Christian, you are one of those. People who think otherwise delude themselves (and they are probably protestants).
Every Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches broke away and were established during the protestant revolt, which began in 1517. Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing. The line of popes can be traced back, in unbroken succession, to Peter himself (see list at: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm ).

The Anglican church is easily the closest to Catholic. There have been congregations that have changed from one to the other with little attendance loss. I'm sorry, but your claim is wrong.
Edit: Orthodox churches aren't protestant, as they split off well before the reformation. Anglicans are closer to Catholicism anyway.

I'm assuming you know that the Episcopalian and Anglican church are the same.
In my opinion, there are not any other churches closer to the Catholic belief than those two.

Greek Orthodox. (but this isn't Protestant)
Attending mass at an Episcopal or Anglican church does not satisfy the Roman Catholic requirement to attend mass.

Church of England as I was christen in one when real young and married a Catholic so there not much difference as much as I know. So that is why I tend to be an agnostic in views sometimes.

Lutherians and Methodists. Methodists use many of the same prayers and rites as Catholics. Lutherians, well I wasn't 'rich' enough to attend their church and I'm not that close to my sister in law.
