Children learn through play and exploration. Whenever you are doing something(no matter what it is) talk to her and tell her what you are doing.
Talk about the things you see outside. Let her play with things that imitate life. Sing songs about colors, alphabet, numbers, finger play songs. Basically, anything and everything is a learning experience, and she is a sponge right now.

There are so many options:- I have a 2.5 year old baby boy and I have been through this. When my baby was younger and of 1 year and 4 months old, i never wanted to burden him with studies. So, First thing is that he shouldn't feel that you are trying to teach her something. Because when kids find that out they are least interested and gets distracted. You can buy her coloured toys, what i mean to say is, if you are buying her a book or letters , it should be colorful, kids like colors alot. If your kid loves to watch TV, make her watch cartoon networks, nowadays they have a lot of programs which teach them different things.
At her age, she is always learning something or other. what i mean to say is even if you don't teach her anything, she will grab words and feelings and language very well. You must have seen this when you are talking to your husband or someone else and she replies or say something during that time or after that time.
You can buy a CD of rhymes having the most popular rhymes, you don't have to teach her rhymes, she will grasp it on her own, as at this age children's memory is very good and they have a lot of potential to grasp things. She is not too young to handle pencils and sketch pens. It is always better to avoid giving her pencils or sketch pens, she will paint your whole house. that is what kids do at this age. Anyways she is too young to hold pencils.
She will learn things, you just have to be interractive with her.
I hope this is the answer of your question.
About Me:- I am a writer who writes for caringparent.org and a mother of 2.5 years old baby boy.

she will start telling you the kinds of things you should be focusing on. Look at books with her (if you can keep her attention) and point to animals and shapes and tell her what they are, then later ask her to point to what you ask her. I am telling you, one day you will wake up and she is going to be saying "whats that?" to everything and she will be telling you what things are. It is amazing how they learn and how quickly they do it. Just point out everything to her and tell her what it is. My son is 21 months and some of his first words were "whats that" and i answer that question a million times a day.

Get books with pictures of real things, not drawings or cartoons.
Any interactive toys are good (not battery operated). But things that require her to do something, like blocks or stacking and nesting boxes. Also toys that imitate real life, like a play kitchen.
And limit tv as much as you can get away with.

Start singing the ABC song. Use little moments like breakfast to start counting. Start handing her cheerios and count as you give her another and another. Point out shapes in the normal things you do. You'll be amazed at how fast she picks up some of that stuff.

With my son at that age we read a lot of books. He also loved to dance to music. I bought him a wagon and we would take daily walks around the neighborhood. We also colored a lot together. Crayola has some wonderful washable products. Hope this helps!
