Rolyn, you have to get out there and learn more about HIV, what about hemophiliacs; organ transplant; breastfed babies; IV drug users; etc

Yes, I think he was. Homosexuals come into the world in the same way everyone else does. So if churchgoers believe that God made us all, then he also made the homosexuals. They don't choose their sexuality as some kind of alternative lifestyle.

Desmond Tutu is a great man. He's an awesome speaker, always joking while making his points. Of course he's right to speak out about the stance on homosexuality. As for Canterbury, I'm not up on Anglican politics but it seems like much of the church has already headed that way. All that needs to be done is for him to make it official.

i admire Desmond to dying, yet i'm no longer able to agree. Aparthied is in this way of better element than homophobia. powerful, if the government made all homosexuals placed on call tags and placed us in a sort kit based on the Kinsey scale or some difficulty like that, i'd desire to bypass alongside with it. yet that purely would not jive with me. i'm black, and that i'm gay. I understand that there are some severe adjustments interior the conflict of the two. for persons who attempt to make out them on the same element, I respond. "you may desire to no longer be black." or "you may desire to no longer be gay." As for Desmond, i'm taken aback that he has such an opinion, inspite of the shown actuality that it extremely is his to have.

i don't know why anyone would listen to any thing ANY!! religious leader would have to say??? the idiots and their followers all belong in a padded cell if you ask me. I'll give you an example of religion and why it should be treated with utter contempt. stand up as a deeply religious man and a political leader, lie to the whole world, let your lies and deception be directly responsible for the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. then go to confession on Sunday , do a few hail Mary's put a couple of quid in the collection box and carry on lying and slaughtering more innocent people.....Tony Blaire. and all they can criticise is homosexuality???? the holier than thou!! tossers aught to be run out of civilisation and every church in the world burned to the ground.

The Church has a right to say what most of it's congregation believe...until the PC lot make free speech illegal. Bishop Tutu says we should concentrate more on AIDS....most homosexual men who have died early suffered from AIDS. Unfortunately it has now spread to the heterosexual community (must have been those bisexuals who did that).
Aids is mainly a homosexual disease still so the two subjects are interwoven.

I agree with Birdy, the church should really stop looking for scape goats for all the problems and focus on the real problems instead :S
