Hypothetically speaking, if you were with someone for a long time and about to have a baby and you told the father that he was a soon-to-be dad and he wanted a paternity test, would that offend you?

Just getting a female perspective, (but fellas you can comment too).

Besides, if you haven’t been cheating then there should be nothing to worry about, right? The dad will get his anxiety resolved and confirmation and you will get the validation and medical proof that the child is his like you said.

But what about you personally? How would you feel about this?

…And no, this is not happening to me. Ha Ha!

Considering how extremely careful I am about birth control (using two, sometimes three different methods every time), I would be sure that my partner was long term and committed before allowing myself to become pregnant. I would never get pregnant unless my man and I agreed we were ready for a baby. And I don't cheat on committments. So, if I was pregnant and my man wanted to get a paternity test, I would be furious and think that's a cop out on my man's part.

First off if i were just about to have a baby i would say i was maybe 8 months pregnant. If the soon-to-be-dad didn't already know he was going to be a dad then he obviously isn't paying much attention to you.

That said, i don't think it would offend me, because like you said if there was no cheating then there is no worries

I wouldn't worry about him wanting a paternity test. He just wanted to make sure our son was ours! :) We had a talk shortly before he (the father) passed away and told me he knew the whole time that our son was his. Well, I am eight almost nine months pregnant with our second son. Take a paternity test for that!

If we were together for a long time, his asking me for the paternity test would definitely make me question our relationship. I wouldn't be with someone long-term unless there was a lot of trust involved.

Now, if it was just sort of a casual dating thing, then I'd understand the level of trust requiring a paternity test. Trust does take time.

YES i would be pi22ed. I am a very honest and loyal person so I would be mad. If I was not honest and had givin my man a reason to say that then I gues it would be understandable.

He is doubting about my loyalty, basically he is implying I am a tramp that has been sleeping around. No it wouldn't make me happy, and I don't think I could forgive him.
