The rules were recently changed .. If you are under 55, I believe you only need 30 years NI now for a full 'Old Age' Pension
.. anyway, just because you are taking a Company Retirement Pension this does not stop you working .. you can always go sign on at the local Job Center (assuming you are able & wiling to work) .. and they will pay your NI stamp.

Are you self employed?
If so, it's cheaper to maintain the S/E stamp than pay the voluntary rate.
