Hi, I am fourteen years old and I am intrested in going to the Naval Academy. I play varsity lacrosse, am in the Civil Air Patrol, Have over a 5.0 GPA ( my highschool offers 6.0 for all PAP classes), am in the Student Council, a volunteer program, and I am in very good shape. I want to go to the academy more than anything else. Other than what I just said about myself, is there anything else that I could do to improve my chances of getting an appointment?
Any information is greatly appreciated.

All that you said is great, but there is more that you will need to do. You need to get an appointment to the Academy. This is the written approval by one of your two state Senators. To get this letter you will need to be the top pick all the way around. Academically you need take and do very well in lots of high level math and science classes since that is what you will be taken if you are accepted. You can go to the Naval Academy website and learn more about what is required of you to get in and do well while you are there. Here is the site. Read the whole thing and do so on a regular basis just in case they update any of the information. They will tell you the kind of classes you will need, when you need to apply for admission and how to do so. Good luck!

I'm USNA Class of '84.
You've got a good start going. Check out the links the other posters provided with information directly from the Academy.
Remember to research out the other academies -- one of the questions you will be asked is why you didn't apply to them, or if you do, why you chose Annapolis first.
Unless you are in a very small state with only one or two representatives, you will stand a better chance of appointment from your representative than from a senator. Senators get applications from your entire state while representatives only get applications from within their district.
Do you have any family members that are veterans? If so, you may be eligible for Presidential, Vice-Presidential, or SecNav appointments. Check the academy website for current details.
Keep track of everything you do. The more you can show your community involvement, the better.

You sound like just the kind of person who will excel there! My father-in-law was Naval Academy Class of 1949.
It is an amazing school, and you will get a fantastic education as well as being able to serve our country.
The first thing you need to do is contact your Congressman or Senator. Have one of your parents call their local office (or at least the one closest to your hometown) and get an appointment to meet with a caseworker. That person will help you get everything organized for your application, and they will give you a letter of recommendation. If you can get one from each of your state's US Senators, you will have a VERY high chance of getting in.
Also, keep your GPA high, and stay out of trouble. It really does sound like you are just the kind of young person that they want, and I think you will have a lot of success.
Thank you for wanting to serve our country. Good Luck in all you do!

If you have parents that have been in the military for over 20 years by the time that you apply for an appointment, then you can actually get a presidential nomination to the Academy. Get your Spaatz award also puts you above many others. most military academies reserve spots for CAP cadets that have recieved their Spaatz award. I'm not sure about the Naval acemy though.

i don't think of so! you will possibly be chosen to flow to flight college after commencement and you will take good classes, like aeronautical engineering. The Academy prepares you to be an officer first!

Contact your congressman and your senators. Ask them for recommendations.
Also, check the USNA web site. http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/steps.htm
