I just bought the Rebel XTi and am very happy with it. I can get very good pictures with the auto settings, and as I become more familiar with it, I can learn the other features.

The "established" lens may be the Canon 18 - 55mm. i might propose determining to purchase the digital camera with this lens. It retains your unique investment down and delivers a photo taking kit of quite intense high quality while used top. The 18 - fifty 5 mm lens provide you a zoom selection from reasonable extensive attitude to somewhat over 2x telephoto which sounds to me like it would come close to taking most of the photograph types you prefer to shoot. The seventy 5 - 300mm lens is a super photograph taker (i'm individual who has one and loves it), yet on your digital camera might provide you the equivalent of roughly 3X to 13X magnification. In different words, no extensive attitude lead to any respect and a magnification selection that international require you to apply a tripod for each and all of the photos you took utilising it. do no longer confuse lenses to paintings like they might on a 35mm action picture digital camera. The XTi is greater like a !/2 physique 35mm digital camera so any lens you get would be a million.5+ situations greater magnification than it could be utilising known 35mm. start up with the hassle-loose "kit" lens and upload yet another lens later in case you have a particular ought to fill.
