I'm going on "The Holiday" cruise ship and we are sailing to Mexico. To any people that have been before, what can I expect?

The Holiday is probably the oldest ship in the current Carnival fleet. She was built in 1985 and had her last face lift in 2006.

She is a smaller ship at 46 tons so you feel more motion than on the larger Conquest style ships. You might want to take some Dramamine before you board just to ward off any potential sea sickness.

The Holiday visits Progresso and Cozumel on the 5-day cruise.

Progresso is a developing port. The dock is built about 2 miles out and you have to take a bus to the town. There is not much to do in the town of Progresso but there are excursions that you can take that require a bus ride. The beach is OK...be aware there are a ton of street vendors but they are nice and go away if you say No, thank you. If you like open air market shopping, Progresso has some good deals on trinkets and the like. Take small US bills like $1 and $5 for shopping in the markets. It is usually hotter than heck in Progresso...do your eating, drinking and other business on board ship...

Cozumel is still recovering from the 2005 hurricanes but there are a ton of things to do in Cozumel. We loved the Cavern by Jeep excursion. Dolphin swim is fun but expensive. Submarine ride is good but not if you don't like closed in spaces. Beach is nice in Cozumel. They are very in tune to the tourist trade.

Take a power strip w/you...there is only 1 outlet in the room.
