I’m not sure why they are numbered in that order, but Rahu and Ketu feature in Hindu Astrology…

They are the invisible or phantom planets that oppose the sun and the moon… Not being Hindu I don’t really know anything more than this.

The Sun and moon are not planets by any standard. The numbering otherwise seems random.

There are only 8 major planets and a bunch of minor ones, including the newly demoted Pluto.
