I am meeting my brother in law for the 1st time and my sister in law is also coming to visit for 3 to 4 days at Thanksgiving. They are staying with us.
Any ideas for entertaining them or keeping conversation going? I have never met them before, I have talked with her a lot but never this much time. I am a little nervous.
Any advice from people who have been there!!
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.

Just be yourself. Do not try to please them or to over exaggerate because for sure you would be under scrutiny and that would be detectible. At least if they would like you or hate you, you were your genuine self.

Talk about what you and your husband is recently doing with the house or talk about anything under the sun....engage them into a conversation of asking them about their work, hobbies, etc...be genuinely interested with them also.

Happy Thanksgiving! Goodluck!

It is kind of uncomfortable, I went through the same thing with my new sister in law. Things turned out great. Just be yourself and things will go well. Dont feel like you need to entertain them the whole time they are there. I am sure they are wondering the same thing's ...... Good Luck :) Happy Turkey Day :)

I'd have a couple of decks of cards, maybe dominoes, or games like Uno or Clue around, so you can play a game after meals. Nothing too intense- so you can talk and play at the same time. I'm sure she's a bit nervous too- thinking the same thoughts you are! Happy turkey day to you, too.

Just be yourself. Make sure you are up to date with current events... just talk to them about their lives, ask loads of questions, and they'll oblige by answering. Also maybe have some card games handy for additional icebreakers. Balderdash is good fun too.

Get some board games or plan a night out, rent a movie, or something fun that is local.

my advise to you...BE YOURSELF...that is who they will need to know for the next fifty years or so...video's, games, decorating the Christmas tree...play music and dance...whatever you do, be yourself and you will do just fine!
Have a wonder filled Thanksgiving.
