In some ereas due to the long distance of the cable some tv channels are not clear. What can i buy that can boost the tv signals from the cable and make them clear.

Generally you cannot. The signal is already sub-standard before it reaches your home.

You can buy a amplifier for the feed entering your house, but this will amplify the noise and problems as well as the signal you want so it wont really help.

There is 1 thing you can do:

- Check every connection on your CATV coax. The number one reason for poor video quality is loose connectors. Make sure the connectors are secure onto the coax as well. Tighten by hand, then use a wrench to go 1/4 turn past hand tight.

If this does not solve the problem - call the CATV company. They will come out with equipment to measure the signal strength at your house and fix up-stream problems.

True story: some of my channels developed snow/problems, but others were fine. All my connections were good so I called the CATV company.

Working backwards - they traced the problem to a pole in the back yard. Squirrels had been chewing on a jumper wire.
