I have tried to apply for a Wal-Mart credit card online, but it keeps saying I cannot use a post office box... we don't have a street address to where mail can be delivered. It seems like every credit card company says no PO boxes... what if I don't have anything else?

For any credit card nowadays, after the whole 9/11 thing happened, you have to provide a physical address for the application. Once you're approved and the acct is set up you can change it to the po box. the only thing to suggest is to use someone, who you trust, elses address.

You'll have to use your regular address, even if you don't have it set up for mail delivery. This happens to a lot of people who historically used a PO box only. Basically you need to set up a mail box and use it for just these few items.

Once you have the credit card, the card company may be willing to change your address to the PO box, but maybe not.

You do have a street address. Everyone does. Creditors won't lend on a P.O. Box address due to extensive fraud and the relative impossibility of serving process through a P. O. Box.

Most rural addresses also have a 911 address. If you don't have one yet, your RFD route # and box # ARE a street address. I used that before I got my 911 address and never had a problem.
