It sounds like you have more than one kid, so...
Reason 1-Wife
Reason 2-kid 1
Reason 3-kid 2
Bonus reason-I love performance as much if not more than anyone else, but your turbo won't love you back and your family will.

Reason 1: You would look really cool having a turbocharged R32
Reason 2: You will have lot's of fun in your very fast R32
Reason 3: People will hear the pssshht sound of your Blow off valve and be very jealous
oh wait, those are reason why you should lol. The R32 is a beautiful car and the exhuast note is 1 of a kind!! I would not hesitate to buy a turbo for it, just think, there are always birthdays are future christmas's, lol.
But seriously, it would probably be irresponsible and a bad idea to get it now. You should wait until you do not have to chose between your family and your passion for speed.

#1.With any turbocharger and inner cooler from the day it's installed you'll need nothing less than the highest octane fuel.
#2. The most effective innercoolers need to installed in front of your air conditioner condenser. That will lead to your car radiator being in jeopardy as far as being able to adequately cool properly. You may need a radiator with another row of cooling fins.
#3. Turbochargers add more heat into your combustion chambers and cylinder walls. I don't know the capacity of your oil pan but if it holds four quarts or less. I'd shop for a larger capacity oil pan. The underside of the pistons will be screaming for the best cooling you can dish out. Remember, the low viscosity oil in the pan "adsorbs" heat more efficiently than thick molasses oil. When switching over to a turbo full synthetic oil will keep the bearings inside the turbocharger happy, cool, clean, and their EP (extreme pressure) additives protect all moving mechanical parts IE. cam-bearings, rod-bearings, main-bearings, lifter's cam lobes and cool the valve train.
If you do decide to switch over to factory OEM parts are you absolutely sure every part inside the present motor is the same as a present Golf turbo motor? If you decide to swap all 100% factory parts what will happen to your factory warranty?
In my opinion, why not take exceptional care pf your present car and swap it or sell it outright and buy the VW Golf R32 with the turbo. Everything would be 100% protected by a factory warranty.
I felt it was my duty to forgo new cars to save all I could for college educations for our two girls. Nowadays we're thankful if we can get together for the holidays.
Hopefully you'll understand what family and life's priorities are.

Dude, figure out your priorities. My families happiness on holidays is top priority. There's a time when you should mod your car, and Christmas isn't one of them, so wait.
