This would depend on a few factors that really are not related to the microwave itself. All a microwave does is move water molecules really really fast. This in itself cannot cause cancer. So you have to look at what you are putting in the microwave. This is why they say only use microwave safe dishes. A plastic container could melt off like a faction of it's surface into your food. Now plastic can be toxic and cause cancer. So in short no I don't think that the microwave itself can cause cancer.

Some doctors, scientists, and others will tell you to never microwave any food in a plastic container. This is because chemicals in the plastic can be leeched out and absorbed by the food. I prefer to microwave my food in glass containers in order to avoid the possibility.

....You know, seriously, I think just walking out of the door can cause cancer.
My mum died of cancer last month. My father also - 8 years ago. Both in there 60's.They weren't microwave users or burnt toast eaters or high levels of fat eaters. They were slim. They looked after there selves and ..they're both dead.
Genes. Bad luck. Lottery. They're your main causes.

not unless it is one of those ready meals with that dodgy food dye in it...

micro waves do not remain on food when you take them out. It is different from gamma radiation and stuff like that.

Only if it's processed food that you put in.
The waves themselves are not present anymore when you remove the food
