I just got a butterfly on my ankle this past Saturday. I have been cleaning it and putting the ointment on it. It is swollen and some of the ink is sort of rubbing off? I was just wondering is it suposed to do that? just wondering. Thanks

completely normal. it's healing! keep using the ointment & don't pick it off or itch it! it'll scab & look like crap.

This is normal. Keep cleaning it and putting your ointment on it. The ink will look like it's rubbing off but it's normal for some of the skin to come off during the healing process. Just keep an eye on it. My ankle tattoo took longer to heal than my other two and was swollen for about a week.

yeah this will happen the color is not really coming off eventhough it looks that way. Tattoos heal the same way that any other puncture to your skin does. Tis color coming off is because your keeping it moist so it does not scab up. Its perfectly normal, if the scab happens to harden do not pick at it. you should try putting ointment and saran wrap on it at bed time because this will keep it moist, and then you should leave it be during the day. This is how I do all my ink, and all of it still looks beautiful and bright (and I have an entire sleeve, chest, feet, ankles, and the back of my neck done) Good luck

Its healing. FYI; All you should put on a tattoo is Lubriderm. Unscented. It helps it heal and keep the colour.

ummm, no its not suppose to be swollen or be rubbing off. They must have done it wrong, so you should def. go back and have them look at it. If its red, and hot, then you need to go to the doctor and get on some antibiotics cuz its infected.
