Where does the surname Hamboulides originate?

It's my boyfriends surname but neitheir he or his mother know where it originates, any info whatsoever would be helpful.

It sounds Greek to me.

I looked in several American records (census, immigration, current phone directories) and found no one by that name. There are a few by that name in Great Britain -- it would help to know at least what country you're in.
