If the Bible was manipulated by various religions then perhaps these instances where God has sent in armies to wipe a pagan baby slaughtering tribe off the face of the land would have been omitted. As well, would be omitted all the times men have killed to conquer evil from overtaking their own boundries and etc. The term "kill" as used in the 10th commandment is the Hebrew word "ratsach" which means murder...to put to death without cause. I've also been to evil bible.com and as a closet bible scholar for the last 11 years I can tell you that that site is run by atheists who tell only a portion of twisted out of context stories. Did you see the recent production of King Kong to hit movie theaters...Last year I think it was. In the movie was depicted an ancient tribe of island peoples...they were demonic and gave up their own people to so called "gods". Now in the movie, all versions of it from way back...there was a good reason cuz of the fictional really big gorilla they considered to be a god of some sort. These people who dwelled in the land of Canaan and other places...no such creature existed. So what was their excuse for passing their own infants through the arms of Molech. As well, they would sell, in ancient Babylon, small children in exchange for swine weighing the same amount. They would fatten up these kids...sell them as temple prostitutes so they could then have roast pig for feasting while offering the blood and entrails to the god they worshipped. I've studied ancient pagan religions for a long time now and its not the pretty daisy chain, chanting around a lit candle while listening to Annie Defranco that it is today. The establishement of the Jewish nation and the noble laws of that time, beginning with the 10 Commandments all the way to the food, hygiene, quarentine, discapline, parenting and sabbath laws were there to fight fire with fire...wrong with extreme right and it was radical and pervasive...yet, had it not occured the way it did then corruption would have been too rampant at the time of Christ for His teachings to have taken root. Look even at the ancient Romans. Crucifixtions were for people who committed the crime of stealing because they were starving...not for raping children, which was permitted with temple prositution, or beating a slave to death, permitted by Roman law, or putting one wife up for auction in favor of another...etc and so forth. If you committed a crime back then you were burned at the stake or set up for public flogging. Evil is never OK. However, evil people exist and in order to battle that evil it took something like it. Still, what was Christ's biggest complaint...that these established laws had been made too burdonsome, too overwhelmingly hindering and that there was no longer any love, kindness or mercy being shown toward anyone but their own. Truely for a Jew to touch a gentile in the street, according to Jewish man made laws, meant that person was cerimonially unclean. Christ came to set things strait. The Bible doesn't conflict...it simply shows the nature of mankind and the lengths that God is willing to go to to guide us to the right path. Even in the Bible it states that certain tribes targeted for anhilation by the Hebrew tribe of God...were spared if they were willing to follow Gods laws and statutes so as not to "contaminate" the people of God, the Isrealites with foriegn gods and pagan practices. Salvation has always been through grace all the way back to Adam and Eve. Perhaps you simply need more study to see it and prayer. It was in the original commandments to "love they neighbor..." However, first one had to find the neighbor that wouldn't slit your throat and steal all your cattle and then offer up your family members to pagan gods. Okay?!!! The Bible is in fact all of God's Word. Yet, if these instances of historical events or of wrong doing as recorded in the bible by the men of God were manipulated...they would be removed or re-written to allow more of a picturesque, dignified account. Yet, the account of the Hebrews, Israelites and Jews as they came to be...is anything but not fraught with indignitaties of a stubborn and harsh nation that God tried to make His own. Yet, they rejected Him. Truely these instances would be conspicuous by their very absence...yet there they are....a feasting table spread out before thine enemies. Because you see it wouldn't have been just the various religions that would have manipulated the Word of God..it would have been kingdoms (the Roman Catholic Church) and monarchies (The Church of England) and other governing factors that could have kept the world in ignorance had God not given the task of forming the most concise and accurate culminations of His Word just when scripture predicted He would....Rev 11 prophesies of the Two Witnesses as suppressed by the Papacy for 1260 years only to be brought back to life in the form of the King James Version in 1611 complete with the Apocrypha. Evilbible.com can't explain that...or as well, why people celebrate the Lords Day instead of the Sabbath. If you like bible websites so well...go here....

All religions have conflicts. Even atheists don't like it when you point out that is also a religion.
Personally I'm an agnostic because I don't like the points on either side. I can quote scripture as well as any of them on errors in the Bible as well as the 'nasty little secrets' that many religionists like to avoid.
One of the big ones I catch a lot of religious people on is the conflict between omniscience and free will. It is acceptable to argue that there is a God who knows everything about you from before you were born until after you die, or it is acceptable to argue that you have free will. But you cannot argue both simultaneously. If one has free will it cannot be known in advance. And this does not mean that God - if she exists - has done anything at all to the person in question any more than you've done anything to the actors in a movie you've seen. But I get that comment too, that "God doesn't make people do anything," and I point out that I never said she did, all I said was that if God already knows everything, you can't have free will.
Usually they don't like the idea. And it applies any time you point out a contradiction in what they believe in; most people are scared to death that they might find out they have false beliefs or have made a terrible error.

There are the ones that may learn historical Greek and Hebrew. One concern together with your plan is that the committees date again to the origins of Christianity. The religion has been socially built due to the fact its inception. The canon built out of what was once being practiced within the facilities of the religion. Another is if we have been to obey Jesus simplest we could must discard virtually the entire new testomony. There's a centuries lengthy hole among the existence and loss of life of Jesus and the gospels. Virtually all of it's the recollection of a couple of guys, no longer contemporaneous with christ's existence. So although we do pass to the customary texts we're nonetheless handling assertions. "...however faith caved and is inclined to make concessions to preserve fans." This must be your first clue that might be faith is fallacious. If we have been to comply with a doctrine headquartered strictly at the bible must we then allow slavery? It's recommended within the bible. What approximately rape? It's applicable. Should females have rights? They have none within the bible. It is time for the top of faith.

Wow! first God is not a man but the creator of man.
God is not under the law but is total righteousness.
God is not sinful flesh and all sinful flesh will die and no sinful man will enter heaven.
If all you are is flesh then you will perish with your flesh.
God is an eternal spirit and we worship God in spirit and truth.
If you believe in God then you should understand that God created man and therefore any righteousness you think you have comes from God.
It is not possible that you have a righteousness in you that God did not create.
It is therefore impossible for you to righteously judge anyone especially God.
We do not come to know God by thinking ourselves righteous and God unrighteous,
Where do you suppose a man gets even the sense of righteousness if not from God who created us?
There is a thing called revelation and it comes from God but only from knowing God not from judging him.

I understand how you feel. When I was a teenager, I read the christian bible from cover to cover, old testament and new. I've been an atheist ever since.

When will people ever figure out that the Bible was written "back in those days" as a guide for people to follow for those people OF THAT TIME. It was written for the lawlessness OF THAT TIME. It was written for people 2000 years ago......I can't believe that people take it literal as law today......quite entertaining to watch people in 2007 actually taking it to heart.

You have no understanding whatsoever of the Bible KJV which is the Word of God.
God doesn't make us do anything, but because of sin He certainly lets it happen to us. Rejecting God will always bring trouble to mankind, because without God we are nothing.

Anybody who's honest will answer in the affirmative! What is important is that the INTERPRETATION should (unlike the laws of physics) be decided on DEMOCRATICALLY and not (let's make that NOT) somebody's telling you what's correct!

No, the Bible textually hasnt changed going back to the earliest manuscripts found which there are more of the new testament than ANY other ancient document.
God has the right to terminate life beause he created it to begin with! He is our creator. All of those other things are distorted and misunderstood by unbelievers.
If youd like to discuss any of them, please do click on my name and email me.
