I have decided to join the Marine Corps and leive everything behind. Even though that my ex doesn't want me to leive, it is something I must do. I can't stand the sight of her with her new boyfriend. How do you think I should tell her?

I still love her and promised her that if I left I would let her know.

She is no longer part of you life. She has moved on and has a new boyfriend. You don't have to tell her any thing . Just go and move on with your life.

You cannot run from the problems and joining the core might seem like a good idea but you will not get the answers and ability to move on from the relationship, it will make things worse.

Don't and just leave, she's an ex and has a boyfriend why should she have to know about every decision you make?

call her (it'll be easier knowing you don't have to see her cry) and tell her. if she gets upset, explain to her "you have a new boyfriend and that it's not fair to have to stick around just to make you happy, 'cuz what about me. do you ever give up anything to make me happy now" and hopefully that should set her straight. and she should understand. hope this helps. good luck
