Well, most immigrants are poor. If they weren't, there'd be little need to leave their homes and live in a strange place that probably speaks a different language and doesn't understand you very well.

And with impoverished conditions may likely come a correlative increase risk in criminal activity, and in a capitalist country like the U.S., it's more and more often the case that the poverty becomes an intergenerational cycle. It's mostly bad news, with a few secondary benefits.

One of those is that they drive down costs of production, and our government and big business (which are virtually one and the same) sercretly celebrate it. Immigration continues because government and business want it to continue.
