My Church always goes out of their way to welcome new people and make them feel at Home. Don't feel obligated to make any donations.

Great question - gave you a star - because for once we have a question here that hasn't already been asked and answered a thousand times!
It is tough going into a new church for Bible Study and Worship Service -especially by yourself and if you don't already know some people there - so first of all, I really admire your courage. I can eat by myself, go to the movies by myself - but honestly, I never feel so alone as when I go to church by myself. I don't know why. Maybe because church does seem to be such a social event. My mom says, "I feel so lonely and miserable when I sit down on a pew by myself - who needs it? I could stay home and be miserable!"
I would say - no need to make any donations at all unless you really feel like it - or until you become a regular member.
I would also predict - they will be very welcoming to you as their visitor and special guest. I agree with the other poster who said to "dress appropriately" - if you're wearing jeans and all the other young men are in suits and ties, you may not receive such a warm welcome.
Good luck, I hope you post later after you do this - be very interested to see how it all turned out!

Usually people at church are very nice to you and I am sure you will be welcomed and will be made to feel at home. I never heard of donations made at bible study but if there is you will not be required and only do it when you feel comfortable about it.

Last time I went to bible study they asked for 20 dollars to pay for the booklet they had printed out. Why don't they just use the bible. So many additional costs involven in everything any more.
The people there were so very nice. I know it looks like a click because most everyone knows each other already.
I felt they made a true effort to draw me in and make me comfortable

It really depends on the specific church. Some are very welcoming and some are not. You'll get a better reception if you look like a potential new member and if you already seem to fit in. Dress appropriately. Watch other people your age and do what they do. Don't start any theological arguments.

In my experience- when visiting a new church- I have felt very welcome. You do what you feel comfortable with-as far as a donation or anything else. My first time, I probably won't, just because that would not be why I was going. :)

People should be joyous when someone new comes to church.
We do not take up a donation at bible study but if we did I would expect people to donate a couple of bucks.

church people are usually quite nice, they will probably make you feel right at home, and as for the donation visitors are never expected to donate.
