Daysee: I will not let it go. They go around neighborhoods teaching these false teachings but people do not know about all oddities before they are too deep into that religion. You do not care. I do. I think that everyone should know what this religion is about.

Alex: Do not you forget the most important birthday, Jesus' Christ. Wise men came from the long distance and brought gifts. They are called " Wise men" for the very important reason.

Light 4 blind people: I am not attacking JWs, I have every right to ask and answer the questions I find interesting.

You did not answer my question, you just came to stop by and tell me that you think that my work here is effortless. These are not MY opinions about JWs and the Watchtower society.

I believe in free will. I am not into following any brainwashing organization.

Have a nice day too.

They take the covenant of grace and turn it into traditions and works.

I attend services at a very conservative Baptist church...It is a congregation of elderly people, but our pastor is about 37. He is an avid bible scholar, but is very strong on not imposing your conscience as law. I love him for that. We have conversations on church music, tattooing and other things that Christians try to impose their will over you on. He is very special to me.

Fine, don't let go. Anyway not all people in the world spend time on yahoo answers. So, I'm sorry to tell you that only a few people read your pathetic attacks on JW's. They have no foundation. Some of the users probably think you have nothing better to do and that your hate is so big that you just can't stop talking badly about them. I'm one of those persons who think so.
You will probably attack me too after you'll read my answer. I'm not going to bother to reply.
Have a nice day!

No JW do no longer talk in tongues nor have healing rituals. they are merely following the guidelines of the land and the biblical rules laid out for them as Jehovah had steered. 1Cr 12:8 the single given the word of understanding is referencing to those that proportion the word door to door of the word of God. 1Cr 12:9 &1Cr 12:10 sure while Jesus exchange into alive and coaching he used those powers and additionally gave potential to specific ones with him. the objective of those powers exchange into to help those in want yet maximum severely teach them that he exchange into somewhat GODs son and right here to help them see the word of God. was hoping I helped.

Opinion?

It would seem that this questioner has learned too little about Jehovah's Witnesses, or perhaps she insists on believing the rumors of anti-Witnesses.

A Jehovah's Witness may choose to vote, may read anything he wishes (avoiding only the religious writings of apostate former Witnesses), and may talk with disfellowshipped former Witnesses (while avoiding outright socializing).

Of course, the adherents of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses generally recognize their unity as a unique quality of their true worship. It certainly does not embarrass them!

If you need to shun someone you love and to snob a friend; I say there was no love and friendship there in the first place. Jesus said Love endures all things. Love is patient and kind. How many times did the apostles disappoint Jesus, and he didn't tell the others to snob the guilty one or be mean to the guilty one. Sure Jesus corrected them with wise words and firmness but never to toss them out where they can be devoured by the wolves! Compassion with firmness "works" wonders to build up spiritually. We have to be like Jesus to go to his Father. Remember, you must have "works" and faith to build up another that stumbled. Jesus said, "If you did it for the least of these people, you did it for me." If someone wants to walk away from Jesus, they would do it voluntarily and not come back no matter what you say or do. But to have them not come back and lose faith because of what YOU DID, that is surely accountable with God Almighty!

Well, if one does not live by the Spirit of liberty, which the Father and His Son, Jesus gave us freely, Whom automatically calls us to obey the spirit of the Law, which is... "Love your God with all your heart, all your mind, and all your strength", and "Love your neighbor as even I have loved you", what else could possibly be one's guide to a life of religion? I'd say the most popular wordly substitutes are the letter of the Law (the Pharisees) and the cultic fear of men who bind their followers' consciences with such legalistic and worthless stipulations as the dictates at the Watchtower society. As Colossians 2:20-23 says, "Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you sumit to its rules: "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence."

For the followers, it is a tragically false sense of comfort, like the blind leading the blind; and for their leaders, an intoxicated preoccupation with inappropriate power and being in control over others; in other words, a head trip! No denominational leader is the last word in my life, although they are of course to be respected and hopefully are our examples of what it is to live in step with the Spirit of God. But, I fear God, Whom the Holy Spirit reveals to me moment by moment, rather than men! It is the liberty of the Spirit that gives me the power over sin, not following these rigid rules laid down by men! Been there, done that; and miserably failed, praise Jesus! This is the difference between true liberty in the Spirit, as Christ taught us, and the false cultic religious living of groups like the Russellites with all their "do's" and "don'ts" to living life. I now rely on the intimate relationship that I have with the Holy Spirit telling me whether something is wrong for me to do or not. Living a life following Christ is not based on a bunch of rules and regulations, but is relationally dictated by God the Spirit guiding my conscience, His Spirit bearing witness to mine all the time. Wouldn't you rather be guided by God moment by moment in an intimate fashion, rather than having dropped on you a whole manual of do's and don'ts, even if this oppressive measure brings "agreement", but not liberty? And, if not, make sure you memorize every jot and tittle, with no disent or wavering, else you will be frowned upon, if not disfellowshipped? This is the fear of men; not God at all. However, I experience both liberty and agreement with my brothers and sisters in the Lord, because it is the same baptism, and the same Lord Whom we serve. Doesn't this sound much more appealing, because it most definitely is?!

Nina; I don't know much about JW's but what I do know, it appears that they take things to an extreme. I do know that I had a patient, 21 y/o that had nasal surgery just weeks prior to his marriage and died of hemorrhage. So unnecessary. that was my first true encounter with some of the beliefs. I can understand the celebration of birthdays and some of the holidays but the rest is just difficult for me to truly understand why it is against believe unless it is all about control.. ......ann

OF COURSE THEY ARE ALOUD TO READ OTHER THINGS THEN THE WATCHTOWER..(are you kidding).. If you did not know, smoking is BAD for you...You can talk to whom ever you want..shunned or not..

if you want to have sex , smoke and do whatever you want is Ok, is your life but we have rules if people don´t like that rules then simply you can go.. but we do it cause we understand using the bible that is better to follow bible advice but if you wish you can keeping smoking is your health.

in 238 countries we believe the same, as JEsus said his followers will be "one" .

Lisa: Mormons are divided if FLDS and LDS and use another book instead of the bible.

Why do you feel the need to to worry about them and their beliefs. It's obvious you and others do not believe as the do. So just let it go already!

2007-11-19 10:07:35 · answer #10 · answered by Daysee 3 · 9 3

Moises..You all believe the same ONLY because ones will be disfellowshiped and called apostate if you do not believe the same thing. The ones who are JW's that question your beliefs are shunned ..so ..they have NO choice but to believe the same.
Edit..
One more thing..The mormons all be the exact same thing as well..so does that make them the true religion as well?
