Jesus said, "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man." (Matthew 15:11.)
Jesus once said, "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (Matthew 12:24.)
If we think evil thoughts, our tongues will utter unclean sayings. If we speak words of wickedness, we shall end up doing the works of wickedness. If our minds are centered on the carnality and evil of the world, then worldiness and unrighteousness will seem to us to be the normal way of life. If we ponder things related to sexual immorality in our minds, we will soon think everybody is immoral and unclean and it will break down the barrier between us and the world. And so with every other unwholesome, unclean, impure, and ungodly course. And so it is that the Lord says he hates and esteems as an abomination, "an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations...." (Prov. 6:18.)
So what makes one unclean? Ones own heart make one unclean if it entertain evil thoughts and imaginations.

Mat 15:10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
It means if you eat something, it is not considered unclean but the things that is going out of the mouth is unclean like the vomit
or the things which you will swallow will not make you unclean, but the things that will come out from your mouth will make you unclean.

I f Jesus said "Listen and understand what I am saying. It is not what people put into their mouths that makes them unclean."
Why are you asking:
So, if it is what goes into the mouth that make one unclean what is?

A lot of things can go into one's mouth... food, drinks, smoke... and some XXX too... so that is not what make you unclean, but it is what come out of your mouth like spitting or even what you say against anybody who doesn't believe like you do! You can always check with the clergy to be sure!

First before reading the information I would have said not washing makes one unclean. However no I think that it is what comes out of our mouths that makes us unclean. Of course unclean can have different meanings depending on context. What one says or partakes in can make them unclean.

Well from its context, it isn't a lack of ritual purification prior to eating that makes someone unclean. It isn't what they eat or drink that defiles them. It is the thoughts they carry deep within themselves (i.e., rage, hatred, etc) that they express in what they say that actually makes them unclean.
Being clean is more than looking clean it is from the inside out.

jesus said that it is not what a man puts into his mouth that makes him unclean, but what comes out of it.
he meant that you can eat what you like, but if you then vomit over yourself and don't change your shirt - you won't be a nice person to know that day.
i'm amazed that christians make such heavy weather out of this very straightforward passage.
