The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spititualy discerned.

larissa when I was 23 years old I would have said the same thing. I had already killed hundreds of people for the government. I've seen things in life you couldn't possiple immagine, or understand.

No.The actual answer to 90% of questions here is :

Nice paraphrase. Still doesn't change anything. Quoting and paraphrasing the bible to prove biblical content is plain ridiculous. And as for your attempt to seem worldly and experienced beyond anyone else's understanding, get over yourself. I, along with millions of other, am ex-military as well. I know it gives no great insight into life. In fact, I believe it often gives the person a very narrow view of the world. Don't belittle someone's opinion based on age. larissa probably has a more balanced view of the world than you.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (took me awhile to find it lol)
"But a physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know [them], because they are examined spiritually. 15 However, the spiritual man examines indeed all things, but he himself is not examined by any man. 16 For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ."

There are a LOT of great spiritually minded people here. I would lower the percentage to accept only the die-hard atheists here. But I wouldn't even dare venture a guess at that number lol

...a fancy way of saying, "I don't know, so I'm just going to make something up." Some of us are content with stopping at the "I don't know" part.

I can't imagine how your experiences, however unique or profound, would give you insight into the minds of people you've never even met. It must be more of that "spititualy discerned" stuff that I just can't understand.

or perhaps: the one without reason does not accept things that come from empirical evidence, for they are incomprehensible to them, they cannot understand them, because they require a modicum of intelligence.
see anyone can create a homily. just because someone says or writes something that seems superficially wise doesn't make it true.

I question however that does not mean that I am unwilling to accept. Most of my questions are not about God anyway. I am polytheist so I see not how that answer applies in my case. Also, I believe you misspelt spiritually. I understand spirituality it is very important to me, as is developing it further however I do not come here for most of my spiritual questions. This is not the place to do so as it is not the best source of spiritual knowledge.

Absolutely - I have posted that scripture here many times - along with my new favorite quote:

"The Bible is a parable for the saved; not a textbook for the damned".

No, I understand the process you describe at least as well as you do (which I'd say is not very well) however I think it is something quite other than as you describe it.
Wilful suspension of disbelief by the believer plays the major part in all things that are called spiritual and/or of God.

No man is without spirit .It is absurd to say "a man without spirit " A man without spirit does not exist at all.
If some thng comes ffrom god , it shoud be known to him. He does not have to allow himself to be fooled by somebody. If he shoud take the word of somebody please you take my words too.
This has come come directly from God .Please accept it as you have spirit .
