I regularly ride in parks without any tools. If I road ride and am way out, I bring a multi tool, tire levers, tube and pump.

EDIT: I'll ride with Alex, then I don't have to carry anything!

I carry a spare tube, yeah only 1, but 2 Co2's in case I mess up inflating. Tire levers are in there too. Since I keep everything else well adjusted the best tool I carry is my cell phone. If it breaks where I need tools, I make a call and fix it at home.

Lets see:
Tire 'irons', Glueless patches (they stick better in the cold/wet), spare tube (at least two if you can manage that) a small hand pump and, last but not least - A compressed air cylinder/dispensor! Those are the best for quick tube changes in cold and/or wet weather. I have been able to replace a tube in under 4 minutes that way. You get on the road quicker and your fingers dont get too numb.

A car and a spare tyre plus jack.lol
Seriously though I have an ALIEN DX, this mother does everything your going to need if you break down at the road. If you know how to get home after a puncture without the use of a glue kit then this is all you need.

The park tools range is quite good, although there are several good manufacturers out there. However, park tools gets my recommendation.

My tools include a multitool, a chain tool, steel tyre irons (more compact and stronger), a couple of chain links + SRAM power links, pump, needle and thread + tooth paste tube (Blown tyre wall repair), puncture repair kit + spare tube + pump.

In addion to this, I have a map and mobile.

Luck

One set of tire levers, a spare tube, a pump, a pressure gauge, a set of glueless patches, and a set of hex key wrenches. I have used them all.
